Sonia

Kia Ora my name is Sonia. I have had the privilege of joining the amazing Bethlehem Community Pre-School team after a number of years out of the workforce raising my own three children. I work in office administration which puts me in close contact with a lot of our wonderful parents and help with queries or support our Pre-School whanau may need. I look forward to meeting you and your children and welcoming you all to our one-of-a-kind special whanau.

Jenna

Kia Ora, my name is Jenna. I am originally from Northern Ireland and moved to New Zealand almost three years ago. I graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2014 and since then I have taught in a variety of schools and early years settings in both New Zealand and Northern Ireland. I began teaching at Bethlehem Community Pre School in March 2022 and I look forward to further building upon my relationships with our tamariki and their whanau as well as helping each child grow, discover and flourish in their learning environment. In my spare time I love to spend time outdoors with my friends- mountain biking, surfing, camping, tramping and exploring the beautiful Aotearoa.

Kia ora, I’m Wendy. I have a Bachelor of Teaching and have taught in Montessori centres since 2014. I enjoy an active life with my husband and two adult children who both came to BCP. I love camping, mountain biking, and spending time at the beach. In my spare time I also teach literacy to children with dyslexia. I am particularly interested in emotional literacy and social competence and I also enjoy learning about the natural world, science, culture, language and the arts, encouraging children to be curious caretakers of the world they live in. Whanaungatanga is very important to me – establishing relationships with tamariki, whānau and kaiako and I also value Manaakitanga- care, hospitality, kindness and respect for all. I look forward to working with you and your children alongside experienced and supportive kaiako here at Bethlehem Community Preschool.

I am enjoying working here alongside this excellent staff team and with you and your tamariki. It is a privilege to be contributing into this amazing, quality learning environment.

Kaiako/Teacher

Hi my name is Carol and I have been working at Bethlehem Community Pre-School since my own son came here in 2005. Since gaining a diploma from Waikato University I have enjoyed working with children and their families in various kindergartens. I particularly like our Pre-School because of the opportunity to partner with parents for the education and care of their children. I have also enjoyed the continuity of staff in this centre and feel privileged to work with such a fantastic team. I am happily married with two children. My interests are reading, when I can – cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
