Meet our Dedicated Qualified Teachers
Centre Manager, Kaiako/Teacher
Kia Ora, my name is Toni and I am the Centre Manager/Head Teacher here at Pre-School. I have been a teacher since 2000. I have worked in day care, kindergarten and Montessori environments. I have a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning degree and I thoroughly enjoy working alongside and with children scaffolding their interests and learning. I am excited to be a part of the Bethlehem Community Pre-School working closely with all the staff and families as well as supporting and extending children’s learning. I myself have three boys who are now at School. I enjoy running, swimming and biking and taking my children for bush walks and bike rides.

Hi my name is Carol and I have been working at Bethlehem Community Pre-School since my own son came here in 2005. Since gaining a diploma from Waikato University I have enjoyed working with children and their families in various kindergartens. I particularly like our Pre-School because of the opportunity to partner with parents for the education and care of their children. I have also enjoyed the continuity of staff in this centre and feel privileged to work with such a fantastic team. I am happily married with two children. My interests are reading, when I can – cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Kia Ora Whanau, I’m Tracy and I began my teaching journey here at Bethlehem Community Preschool at the end of 2021. I completed my Early Childhood Teaching degree in 2006 and then worked in a couple of Kindergartens in Hamilton until moving with my husband to Tauranga in October 2020. I enjoy spending time with family and friends – enjoying great food is often involved too! I have three grown children, a beautiful daughter in law and one well-loved grandson. I am enjoying working here alongside this excellent staff team and with you and your tamariki. It is a privilege to be contributing into this amazing, quality learning environment.
Kia ora, I’m Wendy. I have a Bachelor of Teaching and have taught in Montessori centres since 2014. I enjoy an active life with my husband and two adult children who both came to BCP. I love camping, mountain biking, and spending time at the beach. In my spare time I also teach literacy to children with dyslexia. I am particularly interested in emotional literacy and social competence and I also enjoy learning about the natural world, science, culture, language and the arts, encouraging children to be curious caretakers of the world they live in. Whanaungatanga is very important to me – establishing relationships with tamariki, whānau and kaiako and I also value Manaakitanga- care, hospitality, kindness and respect for all. I look forward to working with you and your children alongside experienced and supportive kaiako here at Bethlehem Community Preschool.
Kia Ora my name is Sonia. I have had the privilege of joining the amazing Bethlehem Community Pre-School team after a number of years out of the workforce raising my own three children. I work in office administration which puts me in close contact with a lot of our wonderful parents and help with queries or support our Pre-School whanau may need. I look forward to meeting you and your children and welcoming you all to our one-of-a-kind special whanau.
